Finding the optimal balance of seeing the world, interpreting the world, and placing one’s unique imprint on the world is a yeoman’s task, not lightly undertaken but also worthy of the rewards of successful accomplishment. The reward itself may appear as nothing of particular importance to the observer, but everything to the artisan involved in crafting this endeavor.

Such is the dilemma facing me in this process of evolving a style of photography. That is, am I an observer or an involved creator? Quite frankly, from my own experiences I would have to say I am both. If I live up to the demands of both critic (i.e., observer) and creator, then success should follow. I will leave the philosophical question of how one measures success to a later time.
